Welcome to the first Underground Cookery School Blog which I’ll be updating every few weeks, keeping you in touch with topical issues like seasonal ingredients, the best restaurants in London, features on what’s hot in London’s food market’s and general goings on at The Underground Cookery School.
Last week was a real highlight as top executives from communications giant Vodafone enjoyed a team night with actress Amelia Fox having very generously bid and won the session in a Prince’s Trust auction.
I was lucky enough to go to The Cut on Park Lane last week, which has to be the best meat restaurant in London. Damian Hurst dripping from the walls, it feels expensive from the moment you walk in. The Australian Wagyu Steak Sashimi as a starter was ridiculous, as were the chips and fried onion rings I had with the New York Sirloin, all of which were dipped into the most absurd Bayonnaise. My advice is find someone who’ll pay for you and go!
You don’t need me to tell you about the weather and how it will have an effect on things like Asparagus or Purple Sprouting Broccoli, although we’ve still got sprouts, Kale and cabbage to look forward to in the coming month; I’ll post a great recipe for the latter next time.
